Mikhail Yaganov repairs a reindeer sled

"This part here (the front of the runner) is called kurik. You have to bend it. It’s bent using hot water and a piece of hide soaked in the hot water. Then you have to wait a bit. Something’s not right here, I’ve been meaning to fix it – this part down here should be higher. Most dog sleds are this high. This is the seat. It’s not secured yet, because the rope is missing. Normally, you start repairing sleds in autumn, in October, but now it's August."
