Galina Yoldogir reports on tool bags
„Every Evenk man must always carry a tool bag. In the past, such a bag was made from the skin of a diver bird. The raw skin was turned inside out so that the feathers were on the inside. To give the bag a conical shape, scraps of fabric were stuffed inside, and it was hung out to dry in the sun. The bag was decorated with sewn-on fabric pieces in various colors. At the top, it was tied shut with straps or cords made of reindeer leather (rovduga). This small bag was always carried, in summer and winter, even when traveling by sled.“(Video in progress)
