Anatol Donkan talks about other bear figures

“These are further Duente figures. They embody bears – the Master of the forest, or of a mountain, or of a swamp. They are all bears: mountain bears, forest bears, or those that dwell near the water. For each of them, such a figure is made. People believe that such a Duente is their grandfather, because several Nanai family groups regard the bear as their ancestor – and this is how they preserve the memory of him. Anyone who lives near the forest should always have such a Duente. Because he is the spirit of the bear – a being one might encounter at any moment.” (Video in progress)
