Collecting lauten grass and weaving a figure

Ekaterina Yaganova, Vera Yaganova, and Evdokia Nesterova gather lauten grass and demonstrate how to weave a figure. They explain that traditionally, this weaving is the men’s task during the Ololo festival, while the women prepare the tolkusha dishes. Playfully, they reinterpret the ritual after gathering fireweed, ending with the words: “Come back next time, fireweed, even more, sweeter and thicker.”
