Aleksandra Urkachan emphasizes sustainable fishing
9:25-11:31
"And nowadays, it sometimes happens that there just isn’t enough fish – just as life itself has changed. Sometimes there are simply no fish, because today, clearly, people catch too many and don’t protect them. But now we know that all people must take care of the environment – and of everything that grows. Our children should know this too, because we were raised with this understanding, and we were told: ‘Don’t take what you don’t need – whether you’re gathering or fishing – never take too much. When we’re gone, others will grow up. They will need something too.’ That’s why our settlements are near the fishing grounds – because we depend on them." (Subtitles ☸︎ + cc)
