This ensemble of three Kutkynniaku figures depicts characteristic traits of the mythological raven, such as his cheerfulness and mischievousness or even his deceitfulness. In this figure, one can recognize the transformation of the raven into a human by the fact that he is already wearing Koryak clothing, a kukhlianka. Such a transformation of an animal into a human is a widespread mythological motif among other peoples of the North Pacific rim and often marks the beginning of mankind, or - as in this case - the essential relationship of this animal-like creature to humans.
