Bow

Before the spread of guns in the 19th century, the most important hunting tools were spears and bows. The bow (ber) was made from two curved pieces of wood glued together with fish glue. Spruce, birch, larch, or cedar were usually chosen for making bows. The bowstring (ilin) was made from strips of leather or hemp fibers. The arrows (nyur) had different arrowheads depending on the animal being hunted.
